Men's Track & Field Posts Solid Showing at the Sykes & Sabock Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Bucknell Bison men's track & field team posted several impressive showings at the Sykes & Sabock Invitational on Saturday. Two new top-ten entries proved to be headline occurrences.Â

"Both teams were solid today. Plenty of people set personal or season best marks. Even those who didn't are developing consistency, which is just as important. I feel good about where the programs are at right now. We need to stay healthy. We should see another jump in performances next week at the Spire Center."

Cooper Hyken finished fifth (6.90) in the 60-meter dash. The time moves up Hyken into tied for sixth all-time in Bucknell history. His previous best time was seventh in Bucknell history.
The shot put featured three Bison in the top eight. Wade Shomper was the headliner, winning second on his toss of 54-0 and moving into ninth in Bison history. Robert Lerner finished seventh (51-0 ¼), and Patrick Donaher threw himself into eighth (47-11 ¾).
The Orange & Blue dominated the 3000-meter run, placing four runners in the top eight. Sophomore Henry Didden led the quartet, finishing second (8:21.69). Fellow sophomore Trent Dinant was behind him in third place (8:21.89). Grayson Crockett notched seventh place (8:30.98). Grant Kern slotted eighth (8:32.17).
Two Bison dashmen slotted in the top ten of the 500-meter dash. Freshman Connor Goldfarb notched a fifth-place time of 1:05.94, and Max Spaulding finished sixth (1:07.80).
The pole vault witnessed two Bison finish in the top ten. Freshman Lucas Williams had a clearance of 14-8 ¼ for fifth place. Fellow freshman Michael Chernova was in sixth place (14-8 ¼).
Jeffrey Cianfrocca ranked sixth (6-6) in the high jump.
The Orange & Blue slotted two heavers in the top ten for the weight throw. Dariel Guzman earned sixth (54-9 ½), and Aiden Tacker nabbed seventh (53-7 ¾).
Freshman Bernard Kemp earned seventh (23-0 ½) in the long jump.
Chris Sims, the latest profile in the Tales from the Herd series, grabbed seventh (44-8 ¼) in the triple jump. Jared Hess notched ninth (43-4 ½).
Ethan Wolford-Tuffy slotted seventh (22.10) in the 200-meter dash.
Jack Higgins placed ninth (4:13.41) in the mile run with a time of 4:13.41.
