
Bucknell Athletics & Open Discourse Coalition to Host Panel Discussion on The Changing Face of College Athletics & What it Means for Society

Greg Schiano, John Feinstein, Donald Remy, & Congressman Dan Meuser to share their perspectives
LEWISBURG, Pa. — Open Discourse Coalition and Bucknell Athletics are pleased to announce that experts from across college athletics and public policy will take part in a panel discussion on the changing landscape of amateur sports and what it means more broadly for higher education, students, and society.
The panel discussion, "The Changing Face of College Athletics & What it Means for Society," will feature:
"From NIL deals to the transfer portal, conference realignment to unionizing players, college athletics is changing rapidly," said Dawn Toguchi, executive director of Open Discourse Coalition. "This panel can uniquely speak to both the Bucknell community and national college athletics audience about how today's student-athlete model is changing and what it reflects about broader values such as teamwork and character development."
This program will take place on Monday, Feb. 26, 2024. The discussion begins at 7 p.m. in the Weis Center for Performing Arts at Bucknell University. The program is free and open to the public. Tickets are required. BUID holders may receive tickets beginning Friday, Feb. 23. Non-BUID holders may receive tickets at the Weis Center box office beginning at 5:30 p.m. the night of the event.
