King Advances to Quarterfinals at Patriot League ITA Conference Masters Qualifier

RESULTS

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Fourth-seeded Whitney posted a straight-set victory to advance to the quarterfinals in the singles draw, highlighting the Bucknell women's tennis team's day at the Patriot League ITA Conference Masters Qualifier.

After receiving a first-round bye, King was a 6-3, 6-0 winner over Hamsa Javagal of Lehigh. King, who is now 6-1 this fall, will take on Army's Emma Sy in the quarters on Saturday morning.

Abby Platt took the first set 6-2 from Lafayette's Alyssa Perdomo, but Perdomo came back to win it in three sets. Platt and King also teamed up in the doubles draw, and they dropped a hard-fought 6-3 set to No. 2 seed Gabriella Mikaul and Uma Bakaiyte of Boston University.

This weekend's singles and doubles champions will qualify for the ITA Conference Masters Championships in Rome, Ga., next month.
