RESULTS
BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Freshman Sophia Bardunias made four birdies on the way to a 3-over-par 75, leading the Bucknell women's golf team on day one of the Lehigh Invitational at Saucon Valley Country Club. The Bison compiled a 324 team score and are tied for seventh place.
Bardunias will head into Sunday's final round in a tie for fourth individually, just two shots off the lead. Navy's Keira Howard paces the field after opening with a 73. Teammate Emma Tang and Fairfield's Katelynn Waclawski are one shot back, and then Bardunias and Nicole Tanoue of Cal State Northridge are two back.
Navy has a commanding lead in the team standings after posting a 300 team score. Second-place FDU is 17 strokes behind.
Nicole Yun followed Bardunias with a 79, and the Bison also counted an 83 from Tara Thomas and an 87 from Katrina von Behren.
Round two gets underway on Sunday morning.
