RESULTS
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell men's golf team counted four scores of 72 or better, led by a 1-under-par 69 from sophomore Hayden Quinn, and the Bison opened with a 4-over 284 team score at the Bucknell Invitational on Sunday. The Bison are tied for seventh place on a crowded leaderboard, just three shots behind 18-hole leader Colgate.
Back-to-back birdies at holes 16 and 17 moved Quinn into red numbers for the day, and he is tied for seventh place on the individual leaderboard. Le Moyne's Owen Corby shot a 4-under 66 to take the lead, with Wagner's Thomas Choi one shot back. Three players are at -2, followed by another 11 at 1-under.
Freshman Jack Hartman also birdied 16 and 17 and followed Quinn with a 71. Freshman Patrick Pritsios and senior Michael Rudnick both shot 72. Rudnick shook off a slow start by playing his final eight holes in 2-under, capped by a birdie at the 18th.
Two of Bucknell's unattached players also had strong opening rounds. Junior James Robbins made four birdies en route to an even-par 70, and senior Jake Maddaloni shot 33 on the back nine to finish with a 72.
Colgate opened with a 1-over 281 to grab a precarious one-shot lead over St. John's and Youngstown State. Hofstra, Holy Cross, and Le Moyne are all two back, and Bucknell and Cornell are tied for seventh at +4.
The tournament continues with two more 18-hole rounds on Monday and Tuesday, with tee times starting at 9 a.m.
