Jack Forrest Selected as Patriot League Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell senior Jack Forrest earned his second PenFed Credit Union Patriot League Men's Basketball Player of the Week honor of the season on Monday, after he helped the Bison to a pair of victories over Navy and Army West Point.
Forrest had a sensational second half in Wednesday's 71-63 home win over the Midshipmen, when he drained four 3-pointers and scored 20 of his game-high 24 points after halftime. He hit back-to-back 3-pointers to quell one Navy run, and then in one key sequence after the Mids pulled within six with two minutes to go, Forrest blocked a shot under the hoop and then finished a driving layup at the other end to push the margin back to eight.
Forrest finished the night 9-for-12 from the field and 4-for-6 from 3-point distance, and he also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
In Saturday's 66-56 road win at Army, Forrest tallied 14 points and six rebounds. He made two key buckets late in the game to help ice the victory, and he spearheaded a terrific defensive effort in which the Bison limited the Black Knights to 33.3 percent shooting from the field and held their leading scorer on the season to two points.
Forrest leads the Patriot League in scoring at 16.7 points per game, and he also paces the conference in made 3-pointers per game (2.7) and minutes per game (36.2) while ranking second in free-throw percentage (.831) and fourth in 3-point percentage (.393).
Bucknell is now 5-3 in Patriot League play and is tied for third place with American. The Bison host Loyola on Wednesday night before traveling to American on Saturday.
