Henna Andican Named Patriot League Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Henna Andican scored goals in both of the team's games last week, and on Monday she was rewarded with her Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week citation of the season.

Andican scored the opening goal in the first half against both American and Army. That goal held up as the game-winner in Bucknell's 1-0 victory over American last weekend. Her cracking header at rainy Army West Point on Saturday gave the Bison a 1-0 lead, but the Black Knights flipped the game around in the second half and came away with the three points.

The Mountain Lakes, N.J., native now has five goals on the season, second-most in the Patriot League. Loyola's Baylee DeSmit, this week's PL Midfielder of the Week, leads the league with six. Andican also ranks second in the league in points with 14, fifth in assists with four, and first in shots with 44.

The Bison saw their six-match unbeaten streak come to an end at Army, and they will take a 6-3-1 record (1-1-1 PL) into Saturday's away match at Holy Cross.
