
Coach McBride and Motau to Compete in International Events

LEWISBURG, Pa.- The season concluded for the Bucknell water polo programs but two members will be this busy this summer participating in world events. Head coach John McBride and attacker Boati Motau boast a busy slate this summer.

Coach McBride will serve as an assistant coach for the US Men's Team in the Men's Water Polo World Cup 2023 Final and the 2023 World Aquatics Championships. Motau will compete for the South African squad at the latter competition.
The Men's Water Polo World Cup 2023 Final will be held in Los Angeles, California from June 30-July 2, and hosted by the University of Southern California. Eight teams qualified for the event: Italy, Spain, the USA, Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Germany, and Romania. The USA team opens the competition with a quarterfinal match against Serbia at 10:00 PM on June 30.Â
The 2023 World Aquatics Championships, scheduled for July 14-30, are accommodated by Fukuoka, Japan. The event aims to create the future of aquatic sports through innovative technology, and also create a future for the region by connecting various people. The water polo portion of the event takes place from July 15-29.
