EASTON, Pa. – The Bucknell baseball team pounded out 11 runs on 14 hits on Sunday, but the Bison could not keep up with Lafayette's surging offense and dropped the series finale 17-11 at Kamine Stadium. The Leopards took the final two games of the weekend series, but the Bison claimed the season series three games to two.

Billy Kender and Grant Voytovich homered, and Sean Keys collected three more hits and drove in a pair for the Bison, who are now 15-16 overall and 8-7 in the Patriot League. Bucknell jumped out to an 8-3 lead, but the Leopards (10-23, 6-5 PL) scored 14 runs in their final four turns at bat.

Seif Ingram tallied four hits, Blaze Fadio drove in five runs, and Michael Zarrillo hit his third home run of the weekend to lead Lafayette.

Tyler Dunn's two-run single followed by Kender's first career home run staked the Bison to a quick 4-0 lead after a half-inning. Lafayette got two back in the bottom of the first, but Bucknell added two more in the second and two in the fourth to take an 8-3 lead. Back-to-back RBI singles by Voytovich and Keys gave the Bison the five-run margin, but the Leopards got to Bucknell starter Tyler O'Neill in the fifth.

After a walk and hit batsman with the bases loaded forced in runs, Fadio singled in two more to pull Lafayette within 8-7. Reliever Hadley Maxwell (0-1) got a pop-up to escape the fifth with the lead, but Zarrillo's two-run homer in the sixth put the hosts in front, and they added two more in the inning to go up 11-8.

Bucknell crept back within 11-10 when Nic Adamo yanked a two-run double down the left-field line in the seventh, but Lafayette put together a third straight four-run inning in the seventh and added two more in the eighth to counter Voytovich's sixth home run of the season.

Chase Barley (3-2) allowed one run over 3.1 relief innings to pick up the win.

Bucknell plays its ninth straight road game on Tuesday at UMBC before returning home to host Army for three games next weekend.
