Women's Water Polo Ends Season With CWPA Championships Loss to Brown

PRINCETON, N.J.- The Bucknell Bison women's water polo team (5-26, 0-10 CWPA) dropped a 17-6 game to the fourth-seed Brown at the CWPA Championships to conclude their season. The Bison fell behind 8-1 at halftime and couldn't make a run in the second half.

Brown dashed out to a 5-1 lead after the first period. Chloe Smith tallied Bucknell's sole goal.

The Bison had shot attempts in the second quarter but couldn't find the net, while Brown scored three goals for the 8-1 halftime lead.

The Bears put the game out of reach in the third stanza by scoring five more goals. The Bison were held scoreless for the second straight period.

Bucknell never stopped fighting. While Brown deposited four more goals in the last period, the Bison won the quarter by tallying five goals. Gwen Kallmeyer and Smith both scored a goal while the Bison season-leading scorer Isabelle Monagahn scored three goals to finish the scoring at 17-6.
