Bucknell's King Named Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Whitney King was named Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Bison to a win over Lafayette in the regular-season finale Sunday afternoon.
King picked up wins at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in the 6-1 Bison victory. King defeated Lafayette's Alyssa Perdomo 6-1, 6-3 in the top singles position, where she's 6-4 over the last 10 matches.
She helped Bucknell sweep the doubles point, joining freshman Abby Platt for a 6-4 win over Perdomo and Olivia Boeckman. King and Platt are 14-4 when playing together as a tandem this season.
King and the Bison have won three of their last four matches leading into the Patriot League Tournament, which begins later this week. They finished the regular season 12-12 overall and 4-3 in league play.
Seeding for the Patriot League Tournament and Bucknell's first opponent will be revealed in the coming days.
