
Sohosky’s 75 Leads Bison in Final Round of St. John’s Invitational

HASTINGS-on-HUDSON, N.Y. – Morgan Sohosky fired a season-best 75, and Cristina Canales followed with a 78 to lead the Bison women's golf team to a second straight 317 tally at the St. John's Invitational at Saint Andrew's Golf Club. The Bison finished in seventh place with a 36-hole total of 634.
Sohosky birdied the eighth and 16th holes on the way to her 4-over-par 75, and that moved her up to 20th place with a 154 total. Canales also carded two rounds in the 70s (79-78) to finish T-23rd.
Tatum McKelvey followed her team-best 77 in the opening round with an 83 on Tuesday. Viveka Kurup closed with an 81, and Tara Thomas shot 84.
Seton Hall came from behind to win the tournament. The Pirates shot 295 in the final round, the only sub-300 round in the field, and finished at 593 for 36 holes. First-round leader St. John's finished two strokes back in second place.
Jessie Kweon of St. John's followed up her 68 with an even-par 71 in round two, and she captured medalist honors by five shots over Ludovica Busetto of Seton Hall.
Next up for the Bison is a trip to Annapolis, Md., for the Navy Spring Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. That will be the final event before the Patriot League Championship, which will be held Apr. 21-23 at Independence GC in Midlothian, Va.
