Bucknell Football Lands League-High 50 Student-Athletes on PL Academic Honor Roll

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell football team placed a league-high 50 student-athletes on the Fall 2022 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.
It's the second-highest number of honorees the program has ever received, and Bucknell has now placed at least 40 student-athletes on the Honor Roll for seven consecutive years. Of the 50 to earn Patriot League Academic Honor Roll status, 35 made the Bucknell Dean's list for earning a grade point average of at least 3.50.
Six Bison recorded perfect 4.0 GPAs: Juniors Adam Barakat, Connor Carretta, Colby Grames, Ethan Pitzel, Harrison Shepherd and freshman Kieran Coscia.
Two seniors, Brent Jackson and Jonathan Searcy, became four-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll members. Jackson also joined juniors Coleman Bennett and Ethan Pitzel on the 2022 Academic All-Patriot League Team in November.
All four of Bucknell's 2022 All-Patriot League Team award winners were recognized on Tuesday: Ben Allen, Jackson, Pitzel and Gavin Pringle.
To qualify for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, student-athletes must have achieved a minimum 3.20 GPA during the semester in which their team competed. A total of 296 football players were honored this season. Fordham finished second behind the Bison with 47 honorees.
Also notable, Bucknell as a whole led all Patriot League schools with 176 Academic All-Patriot League members during the 2022 fall season.
