LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior outfielder Grant Voytovich was selected as the Bison of the Week on Monday after capping off a .400-hitting week with a walk-off base hit to help the Bucknell baseball team complete a three-game series sweep of Rhode Island. The Bison won all three games against the Rams in come-from-behind fashion, including two extra-inning wins on Sunday, and now the squad turns its attention to Patriot League play with Tuesday's non-league game at UMBC postponed due to inclement weather.
Including his three-hit game in a mid-week 6-5 loss to Marist, Voytovich went 6-for-15 (.400) on the week to up his season average to .283. He leads the team with three home runs and ranks third on the squad in RBIs with nine.
Voytovich collected two hits in Sunday's series finale against Rhode Island, including his game-winning hit in the bottom of the eighth. He pulled a 3-1 pitch into left field to bring home Anthony Sherwin with the winning run, setting off Bucknell's second walk-off celebration of the day. A few hours earlier, Billy Kender drove home the winning run in game one of the doubleheader, and the Bison won both games by 3-2 margins.
Now 5-9 on the season, the Bison will head to Annapolis, Md., for a four-game series at Navy to open Patriot League play. The teams will play single games on Friday and Sunday, with a doubleheader in between on Saturday. The final three games of the series will be streamed on ESPN+.

THEY DID IT AGAIN! That's two walk-off cellies on the same day! This time the hero is Grant Voytovich with the base hit to score Anthony Sherwin with the winning run in game 2 of the doubleheader. #rayBucknell pic.twitter.com/f4zIFmMaBE
