ANNAPOLIS, Md.- The Bucknell Bison women's track & field team had seven athletes finish in the school's top-10 lists after the first day of the Indoor Track & Field Championships.Â
The Bison currently sit in sixth place with 10 points. Navy leads the way with 89 points, with Army in second (42.5) and Boston University in third (38).Â
"It was a solid day one, and we have a good number of people in the finals," said head coach Kevin Donner. "We have seven people make our all-time top 10 list, but we also left a few points on the board. It is your typical day one at a league meet in that some people rose, but we had a few other near misses. Tomorrow will be an exciting day."
Meghan Quinn continued to write herself into the Bucknell history books, with two more all-time finishes. Quinn finished second all-time in Bucknell history in the 60 Meter Dash and the 200 Meter Dash. Both events won the sprinter qualification for the ECACÂ and entry into tomorrow's final. Her time of 7.59 in the 60 Meter Dash won her first in the preliminaries, and her finish (24.49) in the 200 Meter Dash added silver to her collection.Â
Bridget Lalonde also qualified for the 200 Meter Dash finishing ninth on a time of 24.92. That mark has her sixth all-time in Bucknell history and earned her ECAC qualification. Additionally, Lalonde passed into the finals in the 400 Meter Run with a time of 56.25, which just missed setting a personal best.Â
Katherine Loew finished sixth in the 400 Meter Dash to pass into the finals, and her time of 56.85 places sixth all-time in the Bucknell record book.Â
Anna Posh finished in the 800 Meter Run preliminaries with a time of 2:12.95. Her mark won her ECAC qualification and seventh all-time in Bucknell history.Â
Ally Clarke scored two points for the Bison in the 5000 Meter Run. Her mark of 17:16.17 seized seventh place, ECAC qualification, and a spot at ninth all-time in Bucknell's record book.Â
Lea Bourgeois finished fifth in the Heptathlon, thus gathering four points for Bucknell, and her point total of 3365 places her eighth in Bucknell history.Â
The 4x800 Meter Relay team of Mariana Engleby, Hollie Walters, Mackenzie Turner, and Anna Posh raced to fifth place thanks to a time of 9:18.00. The quartet won four points for the Bison and earned ECAC qualification.Â
There were three more final qualifiers for the Bison. Karen Hull won fourth and an ECAC nod in the 60 Meter Hurdles off her 8.80 time. Abby Paczewski finished eighth (4:58.58), and Caryn Rippey ninth (4:59.55) in the Mile Run.Â
