LEWISBURG, Pa. – Three members of the Bucknell football team received honors on Tuesday when the 2023 All-Patriot League Teams were announced. Senior Coleman Bennett was named to the First Team All-League squad as a kick returner and to the Second Team as a running back, junior cornerback Ethan Robinson was named to the First Team All-League defense, and junior linebacker Brad Jamison was named to the Second Team All-League defense. They were the first non-academic postseason honors for all three Bison.
Bennett's versatility was recognized league wide, as he earned honors as both a running back and kick returner. The senior captain finished the season ranked seventh in the FCS and second in the Patriot League in all-purpose yards per game (137.7). He led Bucknell in rushing with 496 yards and was eighth in the league in the category. Bennett ranked first in the Patriot League and 19th in the nation with 541 kick return yards, which is 10th in the Bucknell record book for a single season despite him only seeing attempts in six games.
Bennett scored four rushing touchdowns, all against league opponents, and eclipsed the 100-yard mark twice. He also hauled in 36 receptions for 340 yards. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla. native will graduate with 671 receiving yards, 1,071 rushing yards and 1,417 return yards.
Robinson, who has started 26 games during his career, tied for fifth in the FCS with 1.4 passes defended per game in 2023. He registered 10 pass breakups and a team-best three interceptions. He was seventh on the roster with 50 tackles, 43 of which were solo stops, while playing in nine games. Seven of Robinson's pass breakups came in just the last three games of the season, and his first interception was in the season opener at James Madison.
Robinson has recorded 50 or more tackles in each of his first three seasons and is up to 25 passes defended, five interceptions and two forced fumbles in his career.
Jamison, who took over the starting job at mike linebacker this season, and he led Bucknell and ranked sixth in the league with 78 total tackles. He added three pass breakups, four quarterback hurries, and a crucial interception in the Georgetown game that helped the Bison force overtime. 5.5 of his tackles were for a loss, which was good enough for third on the team, and he posted three sacks.
Jamison proved his durability by starting all 11 games and has played in 32 of the team's 33 contests since his arrival in 2021. He eclipsed the 100-career tackles mark this season and totaled double-digit tackles on two occasions.
