Wrestling Holds Successful Blue & Orange Intrasquad

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell wrestling team held a successful Blue & Orange Intrasquad dual in Sojka Pavilion Thursday evening, as the Blue team scored a 22-15 victory by winning six bouts and collecting bonus points in three of them.
Seven newcomers participated in the dual and one of them, Noah Mulvaney, sealed the victory for the Blue team with a technical fall in the final bout of the evening, as the Orange team trailed by just two points heading into it. Myles Takats, Owen Bell and Dylan McCullough all picked up wins in their first action as well.
Logan Deacetis and Braden Bower both posted major decisions for their part in the winning effort for the Blue team.
For the Orange, Kurt Phipps won by major decision at 133 pounds, and rookie Myles Takats registered a technical fall over Matt Kidwell at 174 pounds.
Dylan Chappell and newcomer Aiden Davis were locked in one of the closer bouts of the evening before the returning NCAA qualifier scored an overtime takedown to secure the win at 149 pounds. Nick Delp and Cade Wirnsberger went down to the wire as well before Delp held on for the 4-3 decision at 157 pounds.
Dorian Crosby at 285, Nolan Springer at 184 and Owen Bell at 125 round out the winners for the evening.
The Bison officially open their 2023-24 campaign on Friday, Nov. 10 with a trip to 11th-ranked Oklahoma State. Bucknell hosts its home opener in Davis Gym on Thursday, Nov. 16 against No. 14 Minnesota. The ticketed event is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the Bucknell Campus Box Office.
