Alex Timmerman Selected as Bison of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Senior Alex Timmerman of the Bucknell men's basketball team has been selected as the Bison of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 8. Timmerman had two impressive performances against Patriot League rivals Lehigh and Lafayette last week, totaling 43 points and 19 rebounds while shooting 66.7 percent from the field.
Last Thursday against Lehigh at Sojka Pavilion, Timmerman set a career high with 27 points, and he made it a double-double with 10 rebounds. He hit 12 of 18 shots from the field, including a 3-pointer, and scored 21 of his 27 points in the second half.
Timmerman had to battle early foul trouble against Lafayette on Sunday, but he came back to record 16 points and nine rebounds. He hit 6 of 9 attempts from the field and all four of his free throws.
On the season, Timmerman is now averaging 12.5 points and a team-best 6.8 rebounds per game. He is the Patriot League's second-leading rebounder while ranking 12th in scoring and seventh in field-goal percentage (.537). Timmerman is averaging 18.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in league play, both of which rank third in the conference.
Bucknell is coming off a 74-67 overtime loss at Lafayette and returns to action on Wednesday at home against Loyola at 7 p.m.
