Caryn Rippey Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – First-Year Caryn Rippey of the Bucknell University women's cross country team has been named the Patriot League Rookie of the Week, the Patriot League announced on Monday afternoon.

Rippey began her collegiate career on a bright note, finishing second at the Bison Open on Friday evening (14:16.0) just behind teammate Abby Paczewski, who won the individual title (14:15.4). Rippey, a native of West Lawn, Pa., becomes Bucknell's first Patriot League Rookie of the Week for cross country since teammate Lauren Trapani earned the distinction on October 19, 2021. Rippey was the second of three Bison in the top three along with Paczewski and Ally Clarke as Bucknell claimed the team title over Lafayette, Loyola (Md.) and American.

Rippey and the rest of the Bison women's cross country team will return to action on Saturday, September 10 when it travels to New York for the Siena Invite that morning.
