- Bucknell returns to action this weekend after a successful Bucknell Invitational in which the squad went 3-1 overall. The Bison defeated Johns Hopkins, McKendree, and Wagner, dropping its only contest to Fordham, the 16th-ranked team in the latest NCAA poll.
- The Bison were led by Aleska Stefanovic, who garnered Bison Athlete of the Week honors after an impressive weekend. The native of Belgrade, Serbia scored 12 goals in four games over the weekend, including a career-best, five-goal performance in a win over Wagner to close the tournament.
- Stefanovic has managed to score at least three goals in all but two of Bucknell's contests this season, and leads the team with 28 goals this season.
- Joining Stefanovic in double figures in goals this season are Andu Vlasceanu (16) and Hasan Mogultay (12). Vlasceanu, after missing the opening weekend, has scored 16 goals in seven games, including a five-goal effort against Johns Hopkins to open the Invitational.
- Bucknell will face the Bearcats for the second time in a week after the two teams battled to a one-goal game on Sunday morning. Vlasceanu scored the eventual game-winning goal in that one with three minutes to go as Bucknell took the win in the first-ever meeting between the two schools.
- The Bison have been involved in four games decided by two goals or fewer, improving to a 2-2 record in those contests after taking down McKendree and Wagner in two close games.
- The Bison have now scored over 100 goals this season, outscoring their opponents 106-92 to date. The Bison have accomplished most of their scoring in the first quarter, scoring 32 times in the opening eight minutes.
- Bucknell will open the weekend against Salem, a team that the Bison faced twice last season. Bucknell took both matchups last year, and holds a 24-3 record in the all-time series between the two schools.
- Bucknell took 15-10 and 18-11 victories over the Tigers last season. Matt Ryckman and Doruk Ozar each scored three times against the Tigers to close the Bucknell Invitational. Jack Bruce and Walker Butler also scored twice in Bucknell's 18-11 victory.
- In the matchup on September 5, 2021, a 15-10 Bucknell victory, the Bison used a 7-1 second quarter to blow open a close game. Mogultay scored four times in the win, while Shay Gillearn also found the back of the cage in the victory.
- The Bison last faced Gannon on the final day of the 2021 season, defeating the Knights by a score of 9-7 in the consolation round on Sunday, November 21. Gillearn was the leading scorer for the Bison in the victory, scoring three times overall. Adrien Touzot also had a solid day at the office in the cage, posting ten saves.
- Bucknell last took on Mercyhurst at home on September 21, 2019, taking a comfortable 13-1 win. Bucknell led 11-0 in the fourth quarter before the Lakers scored. Senior Will Gildea scored his first career goal in the victory for the Bison in that game.
- After this weekend, the Bison will continue their road trip with a single game at George Washington at 2 p.m on Saturday October 1 before hosting Johns Hopkins and the Colonials on Saturday, October 8.
