STATE COLLEGE, Pa. – The Bucknell women's golf team posted 307 and 311 team scores on Saturday at the Nittany Lion Invitational on the Penn State Blue Course. The Bison counted four scores in the 70s in both rounds, with three players leading the way with 154 totals.
One week after her twin sister Kelsey Yi set a personal best with a 74 at the William & Mary Invitational, Kayla Yi equaled her career low round with a 75 on Saturday morning. Kayla (75-79) and Kelsey (77-77) joined Tara Thomas (78-76) at 154, good for a tie for 53rd place in a high-quality field. That trio had consistent days, with only two holes worse than bogey among them over 36 holes.
Freshman Paige Richter, who was the low Bison last week, shot 77-79, and Viveka Kurup posted 82-81.
Host Penn State sits at 5-under 571 through 36 holes and leads the 16-team field by a comfortable margin. Boston College is second at 6-over 582, followed by Kennesaw State at 587, Youngstown State at 594, and Eastern Kentucky at 597.
Amelia Lee of Toledo shot 68-71 for a 5-under total of 139. She has a two-shot lead over defending champion Mathilde Delavallade of Penn State. Three others sit at 2-under heading into Sunday's final round.
