Three from Bucknell Baseball Named to Patriot League Academic All-League Team

Anthony Sherwin, Jacob Corson, and Brendan Lowery Each Earn Honors
CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – The Bucknell University baseball team added to its decorated week of awards with three selections to the Patriot League Academic All-League team. Senior Brendan Lowery, sophomore Jacob Corson, and sophomore Anthony Sherwin each earned a spot on the team for the first time in their careers.
Bucknell's three selections were tied with Navy for the most in the conference on the 12-man squad, and were the third-most in program history behind the 2013 and 2012 squads. The Bison have had at least one representative to the Academic All-League squad each year since 2011. The trio has helped bolster Bucknell's infield this season, helping Bucknell to the second-highest fielding percentage in the league at 0.975.
Sherwin, who has hit leadoff for the majority of this season, has put together a solid sophomore year. The native of Harrison City, Pa. was named Bison Athlete of the Week earlier this season, and was also named to the Brooks Wallace Award watch list this year. Sherwin has started all 42 games this season for the Bison, hitting .275 with 43 runs scored and 33 walks. An economics major, Sherwin is three runs scored shy of making Bucknell's top 10 list for a single season, and ranks third on Bucknell's single-season list in walks.
Both Lowery and Corson were named to the All-Patriot League team on Wednesday, and have each taken strides at the plate this season. Lowery has improved in every offensive category this season while making 39 starts at second base. The native of Randolph, New Jersey ranks first in conference games this season with ten doubles while majoring in business analytics. Corson ranks eighth in the Patriot League in average at .329 while making the transition to third base, and is majoring in education.
Bucknell will face Lehigh in its first-round matchup on Saturday at Depew Field for a doubleheader beginning at noon. Below is a complete list of the 2022 Academic All-Patriot League Team.
