Harrison Gold Selected as Patriot League Men’s Tennis Player of Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell sophomore Harrison Gold earned his first career Patriot League Player of the Week honor on Tuesday. Gold went a combined 4-0 at No. 1 singles and doubles in Bucknell's team victories over Patriot League rivals Colgate and Boston University.
Gold locked up the clinching point in Bucknell's 5-2 victory over Colgate on Friday. He came from a set down to beat Jack Selati 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Earlier, Gold and Nick Mueller beat Selati and Nate Romig 6-3 at first doubles.
Two days later, the Bison returned to the Central PA Tennis Center and blanked Boston University 4-0. Gold and Mueller won 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, then Gold was a 6-3, 6-3 winner over Dion Loutas at first singles.
Gold remains unbeaten in Patriot League play – 3-0 in singles, 2-0 in doubles – this season. He is now 10-4 in doubles matches this spring, including a 5-3 mark with Tim Zelikovsky, 3-1 with Charlie Nordahl, and 2-0 with Mueller.
Gold is the third different Bison to earn Patriot League Player of the Week honors this spring. Michael Owen was cited on Feb. 1 and Zelikovsky on March 8.
The Bison kick off a five-match road swing at Bloomsburg on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
