Varsity Eight Wins Duals vs. Boston College, George Washington to Highlight Strong Day for Bison Rowing Team

SUNBURY, Pa. – The Bucknell Varsity Eight won both of its races in a double-dual against Boston College and George Washington, highlighting a successful day for the Bison in their 2022 home debut on the Susquehanna River.
The Bison Varsity Eight began the day with a 7.5-second win over GW, finishing in a time of 6:59.81. In fact, all four Bucknell boats were victorious against the Colonials, with the Second Varsity Eight and both Fours winning by open water.
Bucknell went head-to-head with Boston College later in the morning, and the Bison V8+ crossed the line in 7:31.69, which was 26 seconds ahead of the Eagles. The 2V8+ race was a bit faster, with BC (7:23.99) edging Bucknell by just under two seconds.
North Carolina also competed on Saturday, going up against BC and GW in separate duals.
The Bison will be back in action next Saturday in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., racing against Ivy Leaguers Princeton, Harvard, Cornell, and Yale on Saratoga Lake.
