Softball's Elena Horn Named Patriot League Rookie of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell softball outfielder Elena Horn has been named Patriot League Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league office on Tuesday. Horn went 4-for-9 (.444) at the plate with one walk and drove in an RBI during Bucknell's three-game home series against Holy Cross over the weekend.
Horn, a native of Arlington, Va., was especially impressive in Sunday's win over the Crusaders. She went 2-for-3 in the game, scored a run and knocked in an RBI with a double in the bottom of the first that put the Bison up 7-0. It was Horn's fourth multi-hit game of the season.
On Saturday, Horn posted hits in both games of a doubleheader against the Crusaders and walked once, adding a stolen base as well. She also registered a pair of putouts over the weekend.
Horn is now third on the roster in hits (15) and is batting .278. She's the first Bucknell player to earn a weekly award in 2022.
Bucknell plays a single game at Penn State Tuesday evening. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m., and the game will be shown on B1G+.
