CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Bucknell rowing team made its 2022 spring debut on Sunday morning at the Doc Hosea Invitational on the Cooper River. The Bison Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight, and Third Varsity Eight all rowed in preliminary heats, but the finals were canceled due to inclement weather.

The Varsity Eight posted a time of 6:47.70 and finished ahead of Drexel in its preliminary heat. That was the 11th-fastest time overall out of 18 teams.

The Second Varsity Eight finished third in the prelims, ahead of Rhode Island, Dartmouth, and Georgetown. The 2V8+ also had the 11th-fastest time overall (7:01.87) out of 18 teams.

Bucknell's Third Varsity Eight finished second in its heat, ahead of Drexel and Rutgers C. The Bison recorded the fifth-fastest time (7:11.70) out of 13 teams and would have rowed in the Grand Final later in the day.

Bucknell will be back in action on its home course on the Susquehanna River next Saturday morning. The Bison will compete against Boston College, George Washington, and North Carolina.
