About the Bison
• Bucknell placed third at the most recent indoor track & field championships, and the Bison also took third at the 2021 outdoor championships. Navy won both of the two most recent championship events.
• Bucknell returns just a few athletes that scored in the last indoor meet, but several have the opportunity to make their marks in 2022 following a strong indoor season. One Bison that saw success at the meet two years ago was then-sophomore Jack Memoli, who took fourth in the 60m hurdles. Memoli entered Bucknell's all-time top 10 that season and has been joined this year by standout rookie Brian Scotto. Scotto has posted several top 10 times during his first season and ranks fifth in the record books with an 8.21 that he ran at the Bison Open in January.
• Owen Chase also grabbed points for the Bison in 2020, placing sixth in the mile. Ian Lawrence earned a point for Bucknell last time out as well, as he took eighth in the triple jump. Lawrence was also fourth in the event at the 2021 outdoor championships.
• Bucknell's 4x400 relay and distance medley relay teams placed third and fourth in 2020, respectively, but Chase and Brendan O'Toole are the only athletes that return from those two units.
• Making his indoor championships debut this season will be sophomore sprinter Ethan Wolford-Tuffy, who has had a strong 2021-22 season in the 400. Wolford-Tuffy entered Bucknell's all-time top 10 at the VMI Classic two weeks ago with a 48.91, landing ninth in the record books.
• Along with Scotto, another first year who has impressed this season is Colby Belczyk. Belczyk has posted several first and second-place finishes is the 800, 1000, 4x800 and DMR.
• Alex Simpson and Seth Hoffritz added to a strong 4x800 finish in the outdoor championships last spring, and both have recorded new personal bests in the 800 this indoor season.
• In the multis, senior Aiden Brewer and sophomore Miguel Negrete have been reliable for the Bison over the last couple years. Negrete ranks ninth on Bucknell's top 10 list in the heptathlon after posting 4,597 points in the first meet of the season, and Brewer set a personal best in the event in January.
• Bucknell has seen depth with its throwers this season as both Anthony Zamarra and Robert Feeney made dents in the school's top 10 list in recent weeks. Zamarra landed fourth on the shot put list with a 55-2 two weeks ago at the VMI Classic, and Feeney's 57-10.25 mark in the weight throw this past weekend ranks eighth. Both scored for Bucknell in last year's outdoor championships.
• Bucknell is vying for its fifth-ever Patriot League Indoor Track & Field title and its first since 2012.
