Bucknell Women's Water Polo Places 15 on ACWPC Academic Teams

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- The Bucknell University women's water polo team earned 15 honorees to the ACWPC All-Academic Team, the organization announced on Monday. Â
Bucknell, which earned its highest-ever finish at the CWPA Championships in the 2021 abbreviated season, finished runner-up to No. 7 Michigan this past spring. Â
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete's head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Divided into three teams based on cumulative grade point average (GPA), 345 athletes garnered Outstanding (4.00-3.71), 288 Superior (3.70-3.41) and 174 Excellent (3.40-3.20) recognition from 59 teams.
Four Bison earned Outstanding honors from the ACWPC in Kirstin Hayduchok, Bella Moynihan, Marcela Herrera, and Georgia Lewis.  Honorable Mention All-American selections Ally Furano and Kali Hyham each earned academic plaudits, earning Superior and Excellent recognition, respectively.  Moynihan earned the "Outstanding" honor for the second straight year. Â
Additionally, the Bison were one of 57 teams earning the team honor with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Â Bucknell ranked 26th in the country with a cumulative GPA of 3.48. Â
