CENTER VALLEY, Pa. --Â Connor McMenamin has earned a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team for the third time in his career, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.Â
McMenamin represents the Bison for the second time outdoors after also earning a spot in 2019, and also was named to the Academic All-League squad in Cross Country earlier this year. Â
The senior from Souderton, Pennsylvania has enjoyed an incredible final year for the Orange and Blue, which culminated in his first-ever Patriot League gold medal in the 3000m steeplechase. McMenamin had finished second twice outdoors, before taking the 2021 title by just over three seconds over runner-up Julian Perez of Navy.Â
McMenamin's time (8:55.40) is the fourth-fastest by a Patriot League Champion in league history.Â
The time for McMenamin was an improvement by over nine seconds from his runner-up finish in 2019, and he also finished 16th in a crowded field in the 3000 at the league meet. McMenamin passed Bucknell Hall-of-Famer Mike Deckert for fourth on Bucknell's all-time list in the process.Â
Additionally, McMenamin earned First Team All-Patriot League recognition earlier this year in cross country as well as his academic honor. The Bison have now had an Academic All-League pick in nine of the last ten seasons, and McMenamin is just the fifth Bison in program history to earn Academic All-League recognition outdoors multiple times. Â
