Doruk Ozar Earns ACWPC Honorable Mention All-American Honors

BRIDGEPORT, Pa. -- Doruk Ozar of the Bucknell men's water polo team has been named an ACWPC Honorable Mention All-American in his first season in the Orange and Blue, the organization announced on Thursday evening.

Ozar, who was named the MAWPC Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year in 2021, has impressed in his first season in Lewisburg, which culminated in a second straight MAWPC title.

Ozar is the fourth straight Bison to earn the honor, joining Logan Schofield and Rade Joksimovic. The Bison have now had 14 Honorable Mention selections since Head Coach John McBride arrived in Lewisburg in 2011.

Ozar scored four goals in the MAWPC Championship game at Kinney Natatorium against La Salle, and was named MAWPC Player of the Tournament in the process. In Bucknell's national quarterfinal against USC, Ozar drew two ejections.

The native of Istanbul, Turkey scored in all but two games this season, and becomes the 21^st Bison to garner All-American recognition from the ACWPC in program history. Ozar is also the first freshman to earn All-American accolades since Joksimovic earned the honor as a freshman in 2016.

Bucknell finished 4-2 overall this past spring, earning its second straight NCAA quarterfinal appearance.
