Cayla Koch Receives Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell women's tennis senior Cayla Koch earned Patriot League Women's Tennis Player of the Week honors after a 2-0 week in singles and a 1-1 outing in doubles play, as announced by the league office on Wednesday.
Koch helped lead the Bison to a 6-1 win over Loyola (Md.) on Sunday and nearly lifted her team to a win over Army on Saturday. The senior remains undefeated in singles play this season at 5-0.
Playing at No. 2 singles in both matches, Koch opened the weekend with a 1-6, 6-4, 6-4 win over Army's Elizabeth Gilbert on Saturday. She followed that up with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Loyola's Abigail Thornton on Sunday.
In doubles, Koch teamed up with Daniela Bellini to win 6-4 over Kateri Martin and Thornton during Sunday's win over the Greyhounds. The No. 1 Bison pair fell narrowly to Army's tandem on Saturday by a 6-3 score. With Sunday's win, the Bison improved to 2-2 in league play and 3-2 overall.
Koch has earned two Player of the Week awards in her time and now ranks 16th in program history with 98 combined victories over her career.
Koch and the Bison return to action this weekend for matches against Temple and Navy.
