Ashlyn Ramos of Women's Cross Country Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Ashlyn Ramos of the Bucknell women's cross country team has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week, which is presented by Mid-Penn Energy and Mid-Penn Engineering., after earning an individual title at the 2021 Patriot League Spring Cross Country Championships in Bethlehem, Pa. on Friday, March 5.
Ramos, who earned First Team All-Conference recognition last year as a sophomore, becomes the first Patriot League representative to qualify for the NCAA Championships since Christine Bendzinski qualified in 2017. Ramos stayed near the top two for the majority of the race, before moving into the top spot about 1.9 miles in.
The junior from Sammamish, Washington finished seven seconds in front of Boston University's Andrea Claeson, who also qualified for the meet. Ramos completed the 3.7-mile course in 19:34.7 on Lehigh's Goodman Campus.
The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be televised on ESPNU and available on the ESPN App. Live coverage of the NCAA Championships will be available beginning at 12:30 p.m. ET.
