Dawson Shyne-Appignani Joins Bison Rowing Coaching Staff

LEWIBURG, Pa. -- Dawson Shyne-Appignani is the newest member of the Bison rowing coaching staff. A 2020 graduate of Ithaca College, Shyne-Appiganani previously served as the boys' varsity head coach at The Derryfield School in Manchester, N.H.
"We are very happy to have another graduate of the Ithaca College rowing program on our staff, and we expect Dawson will be a strong contributor to Bucknell Women's Rowing, Bison Athletics, and the university community," said head coach Stephen Kish.
Shyne-Appiganani captained the Ithaca men's rowing team as a senior, and he earned Scholar-Athlete honors during his time with the Bombers. He was a New York State Champion in both the V4+ and V8+ and was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Student-Athlete Honor Society. He was also a member of the Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society and the Sigma Delta Pi Spanish Honor Society while graduating from Ithaca summa cum laude with a B.S. in television/radio broadcasting.
During his undergraduate days, Shyne-Appiganani established a new tutoring program to aid Ithaca student-athletes, and he also coached sculling in a learn-to-row program for adults at the Cascadilla Boat Club.
During the 2020-21 academic year, Shyne-Appiganani was a Spanish and mathematics teaching fellow at The Derryfield School. He served as an assistant crew coach until January 2021, when he was appointed boys' varsity head coach. His team had a successful spring racing season, posting a 17-4 record in all categories, including a perfect 9-0 record in the 1V4+.
