Ashlyn Ramos Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa .—Ashlyn Ramos of the Bucknell University women's cross country team has earned Bison Athlete of the Week honors for the third time in her career after an impressive showing at the Patriot League Championships on Sunday morning.
Ramos took second overall in the meet to secure her third straight All-Patriot League First Team honor, becoming just the seventh Bison in program history to accomplish the feat, and the third Bison in the last five years.
The senior, who qualified for the NCAA Championships in winning the individual title last year, battled with Army's Georgia Jones right until the end, but the sophomore from West Point prevailed in the final stretch to claim this season's title.
Ramos has claimed three top-six finishes in the past three years after not competing as a first-year in 2018. The senior made an incredible leap to sixth as a sophomore, before taking first last spring, and runner-up in 2021. Ramos becomes just the 16th runner in Patriot League history to garner First Team accolades three times in her career, and the fourth Bison along with Christine Bendzinski, Ashley Blair, and Colleen Buckley to accomplish the feat.
Ramos and the rest of the Bison will compete on Friday, November 12 at Lehigh once again at Lehigh at the Mid-Atlantic Regional meet as Ramos vies for her second straight NCAA Cross Country Championship berth.
