Ethan Dunne Earns Academic All-League Honors

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Ethan Dunne has been named to the 2020 Patriot League Indoor Track and Field Academic All-League Team, the league office announced on Friday afternoon.
Dunne becomes the first Bucknell student-athlete to be named to the All-Academic Team since teammate Sean Conway earned the honor in 2018. Bucknell has had at least one member of the All-Academic Team in eight of the nine years the award has been administered.
Dunne, a junior, set a new personal-best in the heptathlon at the Patriot League Indoor Championships last weekend (4716), easily surpassing his previous best of 4474, and also moving up the Bucknell top-ten list to fourth all-time.
The Wrentham, Mass. native scored at last year's Patriot League Outdoor Championships with a seventh-place finish, and improved upon a seventh-place showing in Annapolis at the Indoor Championships a season ago. Dunne finished in the top ten of all seven events of the heptathlon en route to his breakout performance over the weekend.
A computer engineering major, Dunne now earns his second academic award of his career after earning CoSIDA Academic All-District honors during the outdoor season.
Army's Benjamin Petrella was named the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year, with the Black Knights earning two selections overall. Navy led the way with three picks, while Lehigh also had two selections. Colgate, Lafayette, and Bucknell each had one student-athlete earn laurels.
