Women's Tennis Wins Second of the Weekend with 6-1 Victory Over Saint Francis

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Bucknell women's tennis collected its second consecutive victory with a 6-1 win over Saint Francis at the Central PA Tennis Center Sunday evening. Two of three doubles matches and the top four singles matches all ended in Bucknell's favor, as the team improved to 3-2 on the season with the win. The Bison also grabbed a 7-0 win over Wagner on Friday.
Sophomore Daniela Bellini improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Saint Francis senior Lucia Seigford in number one singles, and four of the next five singles matches followed suit as Bucknell claimed all but one.
Freshman Dax Seidlin, who's played in the number two singles spot since the return of Bellini, won 6-2, 6-2 to move to 3-2 on the season. Senior Paige Leavy also won her second straight singles match with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 win at number three. Following Leavy was Sofia Ayuso picking up a 6-3, 7-5 win over sophomore Anouk Ma-Ajong.
The number six singles point went to Bucknell by default, as did the number three singles match. Saint Francis' one point was won by Camryn Rossa at number five singles.
Bucknell's top doubles tandem, Leavy and Seidlin, came away with a 6-4 win over Seigford and Laura Gutierrez. The pair are still undefeated on the season with a 5-0 record in doubles play.
Bucknell doesn't return to play until Feb. 21 when it hosts La Salle at the Central PA Tennis Center. The team also hosts Marist on Sunday, Feb. 23.
