LEWISBURG, Pa. – Abby Neff was recognized as the Bison Athlete of the Week for her role in the Bucknell women's lacrosse team's season-opening rout of Sacred Heart.
Neff was a force defensively for the Bison, who doubled up the Pioneers by an 18-9 margin to secure
Jackie Dando's first victory as their head coach. The sophomore logged seven ground balls, one shy of Bucknell's school record, and five caused turnovers, a figure tied for fourth in school history.
Entering the game, Neff's career-high total in ground balls was four and career-best figure in caused turnovers was three. She was instrumental in helping the Bison hold the Sacred Heart in the single digits in goals.
Neff and the Bison return to action on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. game at Binghamton.
