Bucknell's Wellford Tabbed as PL Rookie of the Week

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. – Harry Wellford was tabbed as the Patriot League Rookie of the Week for his role in the Bucknell men's lacrosse team's 11-9 victory at Bryant, the league office announced Monday.
Wellford led the Bison's second-half comeback, account for four goals during a game-deciding 8-3 run. The freshman's total gave him seven on the season, good for first on the team and tied for seventh nationally.
Wellford is the third Bison to capture a Patriot League weekly award in 2020, joining Will Yorke and Travis Talarico. Yorke was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Week while Talarico took home Defensive Player of the Week honors for their performance in Bucknell's season-opening rout of Furman.
Wellford and the Bison return to action on Saturday at 12 p.m. by hosting Sacred Heart in their home opener.
