Marino Named Patriot League Field Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Junior Nicholas Marino has been named the Patriot League Men's Field Athlete of the Week after his winning performance at the Angry Birds Challenge on Saturday.

Marino, at the site of where the Patriot League Indoor Championships will be held this year, tied his own personal-best indoors of 16-4.75 to take first place at the meet for his second consecutive win in the event. Marino also took first at the Bison Opener in December, improving by two inches from that meet.

The Horsham, Pa. native has placed in the top six in each of his past two appearances at the Patriot League Indoor Championships, and was an NCAA East Provisional qualifier during the outdoor season. Marino's mark ranks first in the Patriot League by over nine inches, and is currently 30^th in Division I.

Marino and the rest of the Bison will take this upcoming weekend off from competition before returning to Gerhard Fieldhouse on Jan. 25 for the Gulden Invitational.
