"It was a solid race for our ladies," said Head Coach Kevin Donner. "We held out a few of our top women to train, but our others did some good things running through two miles. Some of our athletes hit the last mile really well, and other struggled. Overall, I like where we are at and now we have two to three weeks to get in and get some good training before the Lock Haven Invite."
Sophomore Emily Deschler had the top finish for the Bison, taking sixth out of 90 runners at the meet (17:39.7) after an eighth-place finish at the Pitt Panther Opener a week ago.
Olivia Dyer and Hope Beyer also had strong days, placing in the top 20 at 13th and 16th, respectively.
Nora Bennett (21st, 18:17.7), Mia Bellucci (18.24.9), Camille Lussier (37th, 18:38.0), Kate Amaddio (39th, 18:42.9), Jamie Falla (43rd, 18:49.2), Sarah Bain (49th, 18:53.5) and Emma Dolen (50th, 18:55.4) all placed in the top 50.
Boston University took the top two spots at the meet that featured five Patriot League teams, with Abigail Gugel winning in a time of 17:11.2 while Jessica Kellar followed close behind in 17:16.5. The Terriers won the meet with 26 points, followed by Syracuse (53), Navy (64), Bucknell (82), Lehigh (122), Colgate (189), and Binghamton (204).
The Bison will have two weeks off before traveling to nearby Lock Haven for the Lock Haven Invite on Sept. 21.
