Women's Tennis Wins A Doubles Title, Sends Two to Singles Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – Women's tennis won the A doubles bracket and sent two to singles championships on the second day of the Bucknell Fall Invite. The team also has several playing for third place finishes.
Cayla Koch and Dax Seidlin went up against Villanova's Lexie Denucci and Claudia Althans in the championship round of the A doubles bracket. The Bison duo won 6-3 to give Bucknell its first title of the tournament. Daniela Bellini and Paige Leavy took third with a 6-2 win over Carina Burdick and Kaylan Rotman, another tandem from Villanova.
Seidlin also found success against Denucci in A singles, defeating the Villanova junior 6-1, 6-3 to advance to her third singles championship in three weeks.
Leavy will seek a B singles title tomorrow playing against Villanova's Caitlin Fisher. Leavy won 6-3, 2-6, 10-4 against Amanda Rivera-Gonzalez in the semis on Saturday. Rivera-Gonzalez will now have to face another Bison in Sofia Ayuso tomorrow for third place.
In the C singles bracket, Rachel Carroll will play for third place against Marist's Sophia Chavarria, while Jill Auteri will go up against Hannah Davis from Mount St. Mary's for fifth.
Matches begin at 9 a.m. on Sunday at the Varsity Tennis Courts, located behind Gerhard Field House.
