Bucknell's Steele, Warren Win Bronze at 2019 Women's European Lacrosse Championships

NETANYA, Israel – Bucknell's Remington Steele coached the Welsh National Team, which included rising senior attacker Tegan Warren, to a bronze medal at the 2019 Women's European Lacrosse Championship, held July 15-25.
Wales defeated the Czech Republic, 13-8, in the third-place game, with Warren contributing a hat trick. Warren finished the tournament with 12 points on nine goals and three assists in seven games.
Overall, the Welsh posted a 5-2 record, including a 4-1 mark in Group A pool play to earn a spot in the championship bracket. They were edged in the semifinals by host Israel, 8-5, before going on to topple the Czech Republic in the bronze-medal tilt.
The Welsh also defeated Israel (12-8), Ireland (8-6) and Germany (18-5) over the course of the tournament, with their other loss coming to eventual champion England (6-11).
Steele will enter his third season at the helm of the Bison women's lacrosse program in 2020. He was appointed the head coach of the Welsh Senior Women's National Lacrosse Team in August 2017, 15 days after taking his position at Bucknell.
During her 2019 collegiate campaign, Warren enjoyed a breakout year offensively, finishing second among Bison in points (30) and goals (19) and third in assists (11). Most notably, she registered a season-best four points in back-to-back games against Holy Cross (2g-2a) and Boston University (1g-3a). The Bernardsville, New Jersey native will enter her senior year with 40 career points (25g-15a) in 33 career games, 13 of which were starts over the past two campaigns.
