Zach Thomas '18 Signs with Pesaro in Italy's Serie A

LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Coming off a successful stint with the Houston Rockets NBA Summer League team, 2018 Bucknell graduate Zach Thomas has signed with Consultinvest Victoria Libertas Pesaro in SerieA, Italy's top division. This will be Thomas' second professional season, after he starred with Okapi Aalstar in Belgium a year ago.
VL Pesaro will be looking to move up from a 14th-place finish in SerieA last season. The squad has also signed former Arkansas star Jaylen Barford, whom Thomas faced when the Bison played in Fayetteville in 2017-18.Â
Last season in Belgium, Thomas led the team and ranked seventh in the league in scoring at 14.1 points per game. He shot 45 percent from the field and 40 percent from 3-point range.Â
Thomas was one of six Bucknell alumni who were active professional basketball players in 2018-19. Most notable is Mike Muscala '13, who will be entering his seventh season in the NBA this winter. Muscala recently signed a free-agent contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Â

After leading Bucknell to two NCAA Tournament berths and earning Patriot League Player of the Year honors as a senior, Thomas has played in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas in each of the last two seasons. He suited up with the Utah Jazz in 2018 before signing with the Rockets this summer.
