LEWISBURG, Pa. – Sophomores Ethan Dunne and Jordan Montero have been named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Dunne and Montero both scored at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships earlier this month.
Montero, who placed fifth in the javelin throw at the Patriot League Outdoor Championships after posting a personal best (205-1), earns the first academic honor of his career as a Bison. Montero narrowly missed All-East honors in the javelin at IC4As after taking ninth at the meet, and finished in the top five in five of his seven meets he competed in this season. The Wayne, N.J. native has been a three-time member of the Dean's List while majoring in accounting and financial management.
Dunne scored in both the heptathlon at the PL Indoor Championships and the decathlon at the Outdoor Championships with seventh place finishes in both. The sophomore from Wrentham, Mass. also moved into the sixth spot on Bucknell's all-time list in the decathlon after his outdoor performance (6060). One of Bucknell's most versatile performers, Dunne has competed in 15 different events in his two seasons, not including competing in both the heptathlon and the decathlon.
Administered by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the Google Cloud Academic All-America program includes sport-specific teams in football, men's and women's soccer, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, baseball, softball and men's and women's cross country/track and field. Student-athletes in all other sports are considered for the "at-large" team. In order to qualify, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.30 cumulative GPA and be a starter or key reserve on his/her team.
