ERICA GWEN FOUNDATION
LEWISBURG, Pa. – The Bucknell softball team will hold a home run derby on Friday at Becker Field to raise money for the Erica Gwen Foundation. The event starts at 5:15 p.m. and is open to anyone, but current NCAA softball or baseball players will not be eligible for any prizes.
Each participant gets 10 outs, with any swing that does not result in the ball clearing the fence counting as an out. Entry is $10 if paid in advance or $15 if paid at the event. Payment can be made to Ketarah DeVries in cash or with Venmo (@Ketarah-DeVries).
All participants will receive a gift from the Erica Gwen Foundation. The participant to hit the most home runs and the runner-up will both walk away with prizes from Bucknell Athletics and Domino's Pizza.
If you would like to participate, donate to the cause, or request more information, contact Bucknell assistant coach Ketarah DeVries via email at krd006@bucknell.edu. You can also sign up with one of the Bison players.
The Erica Gwen Foundation strives to save lives around the world. They ensure young people have the knowledge, resources and tools to prevent tragedies on college campuses. They partner with universities to implement policies and programs that protect their students. They inspire, encourage and empower people to do the right thing, recognize and help a friend in need, and take action without fear of repercussion.
