Ally Furano Wins Bison Athlete of the Week After Leading Bison to Best-Ever Tournament Finish

LEWISBURG, Pa.--Â Ally Furano has been name the Bison Athlete of the Week for the third time this season after a stellar showing at the CWPA Eastern Championships over the weekend in Providence, R.I.
Furano helped the Bison to their best-ever showing at the Tournament, earning a third-place finish after dispatching Harvard in yet another close contest between the two schools in the third place contest on Sunday. Â
In the first-round matchup against George Washington, Furano totaled six goals, one shy of the school record, with two assists for an eight-point showing in Bucknell's first opening round win at the tournament since the 2015 season. She also drew three ejections and added two steals in the win.Â
In Bucknell's second game against a tough Princeton side, Furano scored twice and added an assist while drawing two ejections against the Tigers in an 11-5 loss. Â
Furano bounced back in the third place game against Harvard, tallying eight more points in the game on four goals and four assists.     Â
For her efforts, Furano was named to the CWPA All-Tournament First Team, as well as helping Bucknell complete the second-highest win total in program history with 25 wins overall.Â
Furano finished her sophomore campaign with 123 total goals, easily besting the previous mark of 75 set in 2009 by Aubrey Rowe, and finished with a school-record of 177 points this season, also besting Rowe's total of 128 in 2009.  She also ranks in the top ten in career goals with 170, and is 14th in career points with 237 to date.Â
