No. 21 Women's Water Polo Travels to Eastern Championships

LEWISBURG, Pa. – The No. 21 Bucknell University women's water polo team is set for the Eastern Championships on Friday afternoon at the Katherine Moran Coleman Aquatics Center in Providence, R.I.
The Bison (23-11, 4-2 CWPA), the three seed, will take on sixth-seeded George Washington in the first round of the tournament on Friday at 2:30 p.m.

Bison Notes
- The Bison had last week off to prepare for this week's championships after dropping two out of their final three games at Kinney Natatorium to close the regular season on April 13 and 14.
- The Bison defeated Saint Francis (PA) before dropping games against No. 6 Michigan, and No. 15 Princeton.
- Bucknell played close against the No. 6 Wolverines in the first half; before Michigan used an 8-1 second half spurt to take a win.
- Paige Furano and Kali Hyham both scored twice in the game against the Wolverines.
- Ally Furano and Kali Hyham were each named to the CWPA All-Conference Team as announced by the league office on Thursday morning.
- The two honorees, both sophomores on this year's team, combined for 170 goals this season.
- A. Furano added to her single-season record of 111 goals over the weekend with three more goals, while Hyham worked her way onto the single-season ejections drawn list at 14th with 62 overall.
- Bucknell dropped the opening game of the Championships last season to Indiana in a narrow 5-4 defeat. The Bison then won their next three consolation games to end the season with some momentum.
- The Bison have defeated George Washington once this season, an 11-7 victory in Washington, D.C. on March 30.
- Bucknell used three straight goals to end the game to take the win after the Colonials had cut the game two 8-7 in the fourth quarter. Nina Benson, A. Furano, and Hyham each found the back of the cage to close the game.
- A. Furano finished with five goals in the contest, while Benson and P. Furano each tallied four assists.
- Hayley Pogue and Georgia Lewis combined for nine saves in the cage in the win.
- Bucknell is 43-21 all-time against GW, and has taken the last five games over the Colonials.
- A. Furano has found the back of the cage 15 times in four career matchups against George Washington.
- The winner of Friday's game will take on the winner of the Saint Francis (PA), Princeton matchup on Saturday at 1 p.m.
