LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Bucknell seniors Kimbal Mackenzie and Nate Sestina were both named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 13 Second Team on Thursday. The duo helped lead the Bison to another Patriot League regular-season title and a berth in the Patriot League Tournament championship game this season, and both were All-Tournament selections.Â
Mackenzie enjoyed a sensational senior year, particularly in the postseason, when he averaged 25.0 points per game with 16 3-pointers in 31 attempts in three Patriot League Tournament games. For the season, Mackenzie logged 17.6 points per game to rank third in the Patriot League in scoring. His 582 points rank No. 7 in Bucknell history, and his 83 made 3-pointers rank No. 4 on the team's all-time single-season list. A First Team All-Patriot League selection and the league's 2019 Scholar-Athlete of the Year, Mackenzie will graduate with 1,330 career points to rank 18th in school history.Â
Sestina was a Second Team All-Patriot League pick in 2018-19. After serving as the backup center behind former Patriot League Player of the Year Nana Foulland for his first three years at Bucknell, Sestina shined in a lead role this season. He ranked second on the team and sixth in the league in scoring at 15.8 points per game, and his 8.5 rebounds per game were tops on the team and second-most in the conference. Sestina shot 53.6 percent from the field, 38.0 percent from 3-point distance, and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line this season. He scored in double figures in 27 of his 31 appearances and registered 11 double-doubles.
The NABC All-District 13 First Team honorees are Yale's Miye Oni, Cornell's Matt Morgan, Penn's A.J. Brodeur, American's Sa'eed Nelson, and Colgate's Rapolas Ivanauskas.Â
Joining Mackenzie and Sestina on the Second Team are Loyola's Andrew Kostecka, Harvard's Bryce Aiken, and Princeton's Myles Stephens.Â
Bucknell finished the season with a 21-12 record, including a 13-5 mark in Patriot League play. The Bison and Colgate tied for first place, giving Bucknell five straight and eight of the last nine regular-season titles.Â
