Ally Furano Named Bison Athlete of the Week

LEWISBURG, Pa.-- Women's Water Polo's Ally Furano has been selected the Bison Athlete of the Week after leadign the Bison to a 3-1 record at the Bruno Classic on Saturday, Feb.2 –Sunday, Feb. 3.

Furano and the Bison opened up the tournament with an 11-3 win over Siena in which she scored three goals and added an assist to improve Bucknell's record to 11-0 all-time against Siena.

Furano then followed up her three-goal showing against Siena with two goals against La Salle and a four goal and one assist performance in an 11-7 win over No. 20 Marist.

The win over La Salle was Head Coach John McBride's 100^th for the program.

Furano's best statistical game came on Sunday in a close 10-8 loss to No. 16 Wagner. Furano scored four times and added two assists as the Bison dropped their first game of the season.

In total, Furano tallied 13 goals and four assists throughout the weekend.

The Bison will return to Lewisburg for the Bucknell Invitational on Feb. 9-10.
