Drew Dorflinger Selected as Bison Athlete of the Week

Finished Runner-Up at the Patriot League Championships
LEWISBURG, Pa. – Bucknell men's cross country senior Drew Dorflinger has been named the Bison Athlete of the Week after an impressive runner-up showing at the Patriot League Championships on Saturday in Hamilton, N.Y.
Dorflinger became the fourth All-Patriot League First Team selection for the Bison since 2014, joining Will Bordash (7th, 2017) Andrew Garcia-Garrison (3rd, 2014), and Michael McGowan (2nd, 2014). His runner-up finish was the highest finish by a Bison runner since McGowan's runner-up effort in 2014, and just the third runner since 2000 for Bucknell to finish either first or second at the Patriot League Championships.
Dorflinger returned to form after missing the 2018 Patriot League Championships with an injury.
The senior from Pleasantville, N.Y. crossed the line in 25:03 to take second in the field of 106. Dorflinger moved up five places from the tenth spot at the 2430-meter mark, eventually working his way up to second at the 7065-meter mark of the 8k race. Dorflinger earned his first-ever Patriot League accolades at the meet. As a sophomore, Dorflinger was 17th, and took 18th in his freshman season in 2016.
Dorflinger and the rest of the Bison squad will now turn their attention towards the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional Championships hosted by Lehigh on Friday, Nov. 15.
